Mach One Engineering have been offering Anodising to a wide range of customers in demanding industries. Anodising is an electrolytic conversion coating that increases the hardness and corrosion resistance of raw aluminium. The process involves suspending the raw aluminium in a mixture of water and sulphuric acid solution whilst passing through a DC current. This process increases the natural aluminium oxide layer on the surface of the metal. We offer two types of Anodising; Hard Anodising and Sulphuric Soft Anodising.

Sulphuric Anodising allows to finish components in a wide variety of colours with fine detail and cost effectively. The process reflects the natural colour of the metal but the appearance can be varied by pre-treating the metal. Exact selection of a pre-treatment process can give components a satin, textured or bright finish with high corrosion resistance and aesthetic appearance.

The Hard Anodising process offers better corrosion resistance on components and is most suited for demanding industries such as Marine, Defence, Aerospace applications. This process is less aesthetic for colour as it gives a duller effect on the component.

Colours: We process black, red, blue and gold anodising

NCP Iridite

A colourless non-chromium passivate for aluminium. Iridite NCP is a chemical process that produces a protective conversion coating on aluminium and its alloys. The process works especially well on pure aluminium or nearly pure alloys, allowing it to withstand high operating temperatures.

Surtec 650

SurTec 650 is used on components to provide low surface resistance and high corrosion protection on bare surfaces. It is a passivation process based on non-toxic trivalent chromium, suitable for aluminium, aluminium alloys and magnesium. Surtec 650 is used and designed to be an alternative for the more traditional Alocrom 1200 and provides very similar corrosion resistance properties. It is excellent for maintaining electrical conductivity and is an excellent base for painting.

Alocrom 1200

The process for coating all types of aluminium and aluminium alloys. It should be used on aluminium components wherever maximum corrosion resistance is required. It has approval for repairing damaged coatings used in aircraft/aerospace. It is not suitable for producing decorative effect on unpainted alloys which are subject to exterior weathering as some change in colour may occur in this use.

Chemical Brightening

This delivers a bright decorative finish to the work and is often used to create a high degree of reflectivity to the surface.
